Further to the information supplied on January 15, 2010, we would like to point out that the new Mexican Customs requirements to Rule 2.4.5 are not applicable to FROB (Foreign cargo Remaining On Board) shipments, transhipment cargo, or shipments discharging in USA with final overland destination Mexico.
Below find again the important documentation changes for all shipments to and from Mexico effective January 16, 2010.
The latest official Mexican Customs update to Rule 2.4.5 published December 17, 2009, http://dof.gob.mx/nota_detalle.php?codigo=5125197&fecha=17/12/2009
requires additional manifest information to be provided. Effective January 16, 2010, all shipments originating from overseas countries to discharge at a Mexican port, must indicate:
. Tax ID number for all parties shown on Carrier Bill of Lading as Shipper, Consignee and Notify . Telephone number of Mexican Consignee and Notify party . “To order” shipments are not subject to the new customs requirements for Consignee details, but applicable for the Shipper and Notify party
