Please be advised that due to increased pressure on positioning of equipment to Asia, Hapag-Lloyd will introduce an equipment imbalance surcharge (EIS). This surcharge will apply to rates for all containerized cargoes from East Asia (except Japan) to North Europe and the Mediterranean. The surcharge is to be applied as follows:
刋Ex East Asia (excluding Taiwan) USD 125 per TEU with effect from February 5, 2010 刋Ex Taiwan USD 125 per TEU with effect from March 1, 2010
East Asia is defined as being the countries of Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, China (PRC), Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Brunei, and Russian Pacific Coast Providences of Vladivostok and Vostochny.
